Biomimetic Dentistry

Biomimetic dentistry is dentistry that mimics nature. In other words, it’s dentistry that restores teeth as close as they originally were, naturally. Dr. Reese conserves the tooth structure with biocompatible materials and techniques that mimic what nature intended. This helps avoid procedures like root canals and the loss of dental tissue. Biomimetic dentistry is minimally invasive dentistry that seals and preserves healthy teeth and gum tissue.

BIOMIMETIC DENTISTRY:
DENTISTRY THAT MIMICS NATURE

Dr. Reese is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) whose goal is, “to always seek the safest, least toxic way to accomplish the mission of treatment.”

An IAOMT dentist is knowledgeable in modern techniques of proper mercury removal, stays current with the latest research, and works in conjunction with physicians knowledgeable in testing for and detoxifying mercury.

Biomimetic Sealants

Biomimetic sealants are a treatment for weak, fractured, and decayed teeth in a way that keeps them strong and seals them from bacterial invasion. Careful sealing against infection removes the need for most of the crowns and root canals of traditional dentistry. The top of the tooth is restored back to proper function and very often can avoid capping by covering and protecting the tooth in a single visit using the natural biomaterials. A tooth colored composite hybrid material that mimics natural enamel allows the tooth to be restored in one appointment.

Holistic Dentistry

Instead of simply filling cavities, biomimetic dentistry keeps the patient’s holistic dental health in focus. By using advanced adhesive techniques and properly fashioned onlays, a holistic dentist can make sure that dental work is sealed against infection. In this way, biomimetic dentists like Dr. Reese make sure they don’t make dental problems any more serious than they already are.

Quality Dentistry

Biomimetic dentistry preserves as much of the natural tooth structure as possible. By building the tooth up, instead of grinding it down, holistic dentists like Dr. Reese can actually prevent future breakage that often comes from traditional fillings.
