Invisalign Orthodontic Treatment for Adults & Teens

Clear Aligners: Full, Non-Metal Orthodontic Care for Adults and Teens

Braces and Invisalign Indianapolis

Many adults seek out and enjoy the benefits of an attractive smile with straight teeth. Even if treatment was started and/or completed in childhood years, many people have experienced relapse and unwanted tooth movement in the adult years.

Invisalign Braces

Invisalign treatment has become a welcomed option for many adult patients to avoid the unwanted treatment of bonded braces. The former treatment of braces has been replaced with the use of clear plastic ‘aligners’ that are custom fitting over the upper and lower arches and slowly moves teeth into the desired position.

This new, high-tech treatment still requires nearly 24/7 wear of the invisible aligners but is a welcome option to the working professional or active mom. Treatment needs that are more complicated may still require the use of traditional braces, but ceramic, tooth colored braces hide the metal appearance.

At Indianapolis Dentistry, Dr. Reese has treated patients in their seventies with braces or other modalities of orthodontic care, so you’re never too young to improve your life, teeth, and smile! Having treated orthodontic needs for over 30 years, Dr. Reese is experienced in all aspects and needs in order to bring about a beautiful smile that will be an asset for a lifetime.

How Invisalign™ Works

1) A CUSTOMIZED TREATMENT PLAN IS CREATED FOR YOU

Dr. Reese will take x-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth, which Invisalign will use to create a digital 3-D image of them. From these images your doctor will map out a precise treatment plan, including the exact movements of your teeth, and tell you the approximate length of treatment.

2) RECEIVE YOUR CUSTOM ALIGNERS BASED ON YOUR PERSONALIZED TREATMENT PLAN

Based on your individual treatment plan, a series of custom-made, clear aligners is then created specifically for you. These aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic that won't irritate your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces often do. Simply wear them throughout the day, and remove them when you eat or to brush and floss your teeth. As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth gently and gradually begin to shift into place. And because they're virtually invisible, most people won't even notice you're wearing them.

3) WEAR A NEW ALIGNER EVERY TWO WEEKS

Approximately every two weeks, you will begin wearing a new set of aligners, advancing you to the next stage of your treatment. To monitor your progress, you will also have occasional checkups with your doctor, usually only every six weeks or so.

4) REVEAL YOUR NEW SMILE & KEEP IT LOOKING GREAT

Congratulations! This is the time when you celebrate. You have reached the end of treatment and you will be smiling more than ever.

Dr. Ted Reese, DDS, MAGD

"Many adult patients have wanted straighter teeth for a while, but at this stage in their adult life, metal braces are not a choice they are willing to consider. Invisalign® offers the convenience and flexibility to live life without the hassle associated with other types of treatment. From the moment you start Invisalign treatment, you'll enjoy a better smile every day."

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I have to get teeth removed or wear headgear?

There are typically few cases that would involve or necessitate the removal of permanent teeth (extractions), and very few cases in which the ‘socially awkward’ and unwanted use of headgear is needed.
